Auditions for the Colquitt-Miller Arts Council’s production Willy Wonka will be held April 7th and 8th at InterACT from 5:30- 8:00. Anyone ages 6 and up should attend. If you plan to audition please be prepared to read from a given script. Also, anyone planning to audition should prepare a short song. (Hint: Nothing fast or breathy.) Select a song that shows off your simplest and cleanest voice. Although it is not required, feel free to sing something from Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory.
The magic of theater allows audiences to believe that a sixteen year old is very much the same age as someone, well… older. We will not cast based on ages. For instance if someone 18 years old fits the role of one of the grandparents or the children, we can easily make them look older or younger. We will try to fill as many roles as possible with kids and teenagers. If needed, we will fill the roles with adults.
Auditions will be open to children and teens ages 6 and up. We will also allow adults to audition, as we may need to fill parts that cannot be played by teens or children. Please let us know if you cannot audition April 7th or 8th, and we will try to schedule another audition date for you.
